Ministry of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives and Roofings Group Collaborate in “Greening of the Environment” Initiative.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives, under the leadership of the state minister for Cooperatives, Hon Frederick Ngobi Gume, recently marked a significant milestone in environmental conservation. In collaboration with Roofings Group, the “Greening of the Environment” project was launched. This ambitious endeavor aims to plant over 1 million trees every year through the Uganda Cooperatives Alliance.
Roofings Group’s Contribution:
As a key collaborator in this noble undertaking, Roofings Group is extending its support to the “Greening of the Environment” project by providing free tree seedlings. Roofings Group has always actively contributed to the conservation of the environment by embedding environmental sustainability in its business operations and by supporting tree planting initiatives.
The Role of the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives:
The Ministry of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives plays a pivotal role in promoting cooperative development, economic growth, and sustainable industrial practices within Uganda. Recognizing the importance of environmental conservation, the Ministry has taken a proactive approach to integrate green initiatives into its agenda. The trees will be planted through the extensive network of the Uganda Cooperative Alliance.
Why Environmental Conservation Matters:
Environmental sustainability has become a pressing concern globally, with the need for collective action to mitigate climate change and protect our fragile ecosystems. Trees help to combat climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide. Additionally, trees provide essential ecosystem services, such as improving air quality, conserving water, and supporting biodiversity.
By undertaking the “Greening of the Environment” initiative, the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Cooperatives and Roofings Group are leading the charge towards a sustainable future.
