STANBIC BANK AND ROOFINGS GROUP LAUNCH RE GREENING PARTNERSHIP
Roofings Group and Stanbic Bank joined hands on 17th June 2020 to launch the National Schools Championship Re-greening partnership under Roofings Forever Forestry Initiative at the Roofings head offices in Lubowa.
The Stanbic team led by Mrs Barbara Kasekende – Stanbics Corporate Social Investments manager, visited Roofings head offices in Lubowa and took a guided tour through the Forever Forestry gardens.
The Stanbic team, inclusive of 2 students from Wampeewo High, were given a tour of the various fruit, herb and vegetable gardens in the Forever Forestry (FF) garden. They were further taken through the various ways FF had utilized modern, economical and environment friendly modes of farming in the garden to grow numerous plants and rear livestock.
The shared love for preserving nature and equipping youth with valuable farming skills began in 2019 when Stanbic Uganda teamed up with Roofings Group to hand out free tree seedlings to various high school students participating in the National Schools Championship. The re greening initiative was geared towards imparting skills that students could effectively employ to create self-sustaining sources of income for themselves in the future.
Roofings Group has so far handed over 20,000 free seedlings to Stanbic to facilitate the regreening project under the National Schools Championship.
Under the Forever Forestry Initiative, Roofings Group continues to partner with likeminded individuals and organisations towards the preservation and creation of a sustainable environment for future generations.
